Benavidez was featured in 16 games for the Aggies making 12 starts … He recorded a .386 batting average … With 17 hits on 44 at-bats Benavidez drove in 10 runs for the Aggies … Benavidez hit three doubles and was walked 14 times … On the mound, Benavidez appeared in 13 games … He was awarded one win on April 17, against Tarleton State … He threw 17.0 innings giving up 19 earned runs and 27 hits … Benavidez struck out 12 batters and walked 13.

2023 (Sophomore)
Appeared in 12 games, all out of the bullpen, in his first season as an Aggie … Did not record a decision … Did not allow an earned run in seven of his final eight appearances … Fanned a season-high three on May 12 at Utah Valley … Spun a season-long 2.2 innings on May 19 versus St. Thomas … Struck out 11 while allowing just five free passes … Recorded a 10.93 ERA. 

2022 (Freshman at New Mexico Junior College)
Hit .390 with 14 home runs and 52 RBI for New Mexico Junior College … Added 13 doubles and a triple to finish with 28 extra-base hits in his first collegiate campaign … Picked up his first collegiate hit against GateWay Community College on January 28, going 1-4 with two walks and two runs batted in … Went 3-5 with two doubles, a home run, and six runs batted in against Garden City Community College on February 12 … Drove in six more runs against Lamar Community College on February 18 – Just two games later … Homered twice and drove in six runs in a win over Midland College on March 12 … Had three multi-homer games.

Graduated from Los Lunas High School in 2020... was a four year academic letter man National Honor Society... participated in golf, Swim & dive and baseball.

Son of Kevin and Julie Benavidez... younger brother to Joelle Benavidez... both parents are educators... father played football at New Mexico Highlands University... mother went to school here at New Mexico State... majoring in mechanical engineering.
