New Mexico State University Athletics

Junior: Phillips played in 53 games as a junior and started all of them in the outfield for the Aggies.  Phillips had a batting average of .311 and had an on-base percentage of .421.  Phillips tallied 60 hits over the course of the season and set his career-high for hits in a game with four against Texas Pan-American on March 23.  He also recorded 90 total bases and set a career-high mark in total bases in a game with 10 against Southeast Missouri State on March 17.  Phillips contributed heavily on defense as well for the Aggies as he recorded 144 putouts, which ranked third on the team and had a fielding percentage of .967.

Junior College: Phillips played two years of baseball at Edmonds Community College located in Lynnwood, Wash., under head coach and former NM State player Brad Ditter.  Phillips helped EDCC to a Northern League Championship in 2010 and was a Northern League first-team member in 2011.  During the 2011 season, Phillips had a .362 batting average and had 18 extra-base hits including three home runs. Phillips also won the Rawlings Gold Glove award as a freshman.

High School: Phillips played baseball for Curtis High School in Tacoma, Wash., where he graduated in 2009.  During his time at Curtis High School, Phillips was on the first-team all-league twice.  He was also first-team all-state and an all-state defensive MVP.

Personal: Phillips is the son of Robert and Linda Phillips.  He was born in Tacoma, Wash.  During his free time Phillips enjoys wakeboarding and golfing.  He is still undecided on his major.
