Freshman (2014): Martinez played in 17 games for the Aggies during the season, splitting his time on the field evenly between preseason and WAC play. Martinez recorded a .286 batting average.  He went 4-of-14 with two home runs and five RBIs on the season.  Martinez had a breakout game against Chicago State (May 17), going 2-of-3 hits with four RBI. The highlight of his career as an Aggie was his two home runs he had against Chicago State.  The first home run was the first of his career and he is the only Aggie to hit two home runs in one game during the 2014 season.

High School: Martinez graduated in 2013 from Paul VI Catholic High School located in Fairfax, Va.  Martinez played three years of varsity baseball for his high school.  The Panthers were state runner-ups in 2011 and state champions in 2012.  As a junior in 2012, Martinez was honored as an all-district, All-Metropolitan and all-state player while being named the Paul VI Catholic High School Player of the Year.  He finished his Panther career with a .350 batting average and 85 RBIs.

Personal: Martinez is the son of Carmelo and Carmen Martinez and was born in Stony Brook, N.Y.  He is majoring in computer science while at NM State.
