Biography

2005 Fall: Mark finished second on the team in doubles (5) and blasted two homers as he hit .302 in the fall season. He also drove in 18 runs and scored 11 more as he had 16 hits with an on-base percentage of .393.

2005 (JUNIOR): Mark had to sit out last season due to NCAA transfer rules.

PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Montgomery comes to New Mexico State from Colorado State after playing for Kansas State as a freshman. In 2002, Mark played in 29 games for the Wildcats, starting 18 times in right and left field. Montgomery, along with Aggie infielder Jason Long, were the only two freshmen on the Kansas State roster to start in 2002. As a freshman he hit .246 with six doubles and 12 RBI.

HIGH SCHOOL: Montgomery graduated from Highlands Ranch High School and played baseball for the Falcons. He was a two-time first team all-league selection and helped the Falcons to a 20-2 record and a first place ranking in the state as a senior. As a senior he also played in the Colorado Top 40 Game at Coors Field.

PERSONAL: Mark was born in Louisville, Ky. and is the son of Steve and Cassie Montgomery. He is majoring in Business Management.
