Biography

Red Shirt Freshman (2007): Lopez played in 36 games for Oklahoma State and started in 24 of those games.  He helped the Cowboys to a 42-21 record and an NCAA tournament appearance.  Lopez hit .289 on the year with seven doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI.  He walked 15 times and grounded into a double-play only once.

 

Freshman (2006): Lopez sat out the season as a redshirt.  He played for the Bend Elks in the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League over the summer where he hit .259 with five RBIs in 20 games for the Elks.

 

High School: Lopez was a four-year letterman at shortstop for Palm Desert High School in Palm Desert Calif.  He hit .375 as a senior and was named All-Desert Valley League.  He was also selected to the Desert Classic Baseball Tournament all-tournament team in 2004.  Lopez also recruited by Long Beach State and UNLV.

 

Personal: Lopez is the son of Jim and Robin Lopez and has one brother, Chris.  He is an education major.
