New Mexico State University Athletics

Junior (2014): In his first season with the Aggies, Stein made 15 appearances for NM State. Among all Aggie relievers, Stein led the group all with nine strikeouts in conference play. Stein pitched 5.1 of his 5.2 innings total innings during conference play. 

Prior to NM State: Stein played two years of baseball (2012-13) at Brookhaven Junior College in the Dallas area.  In 2012, Stein was a second team all-conference selection as a second baseman.  During his final year at Brookhaven, Stein was a first team all-conference and all-region catcher and came in second during the conference MVP voting.  That season he had a .360 batting average with 38 RBIs and a home run while also going 5-1 on the mound with a 2.57 ERA.

High School: Stein played all four years of baseball at Medina Valley High School in Castroville, Texas. He was awarded District Newcomer of the Year as a freshman in 2008, first team all-district in 2009 and 2010 and first team All-San Antonio Area in 2010.  As a senior in 2011, Stein was a first team all-district pitcher and San Antonio Area Super Team All-State Honorable Mention. Aside from his baseball achievements, Stein also lettered in football during three years at MVHS (2008-10).

Personal:  Stein is the son of Scott and Brenda Stein. Stein is majoring in civil engineering at NM State.
