Biography

Freshman (2014): Belch played in 14 games, coming off the bench as a true freshman for NM State in 2014. He had a total of 10 at bats for the Aggies playing as a catcher as well as a designated hitter. Belch raked in two RBIs and three walks, leaving him with an on base percentage of .308. As a catcher, Belch recorded 10 put outs and one assist on the season.

High School: Belch was a three-sport athlete while at Watertown High School in Watertown, N.Y.  He graduated in 2013 with varsity letters in baseball, football and hockey.  Belch was the catcher for the Cyclones during his final three years of high school.  He finished his high school baseball career with a .480 batting average, 87 hits, six home runs and 64 RBIs.  Belch was a first team all-state honoree and tied the school’s record for most runs scored in a season.

Personal: Belch is the son of Gary and Sue Belch.   Belch is majoring in physical education at NM State.  He is also the nephew of former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Randy Tomlin.
