Fall 2006: Gilbertson hit .200 in 15 at-bats this fall. He walked once, scored three times and stole two bases.
Junior (2006): Gilbertson played in 14 games while starting in 12 of those games. He finished the season scoring eight runs and stealing two bases on three attempts. He also got on base with 13 walks and accounted for six RBI. In a game at New Mexico (2/21), Gilbertson hammered a double that bounced off the top of the right field wall to score and clear the bases giving the Aggies a 7-1 lead heading into the bottom of the third. After that game, Gilbertson would get three more hits and account for two more RBI.
Sophomore (2005): Murray comes to New Mexico State after playing his sophomore season at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas. As a sophomore, he played in 43 games for the Cardinals while starting in 24 games hitting .247 on the year. He recorded four doubles, one triple and one homer in 21 hits while knocking in eight RBI and scoring 17 runs for a slugging percentage of .353. Gilbertson also drew the third most walks on the team (24) and finished second on the team in stolen bases (11) with an on-base percentage of .430. On the field he posted a fielding percentage of .904 with 45 putouts in 52 chances with two assists.
Junior College: Gilbertson played for Brian Roper at Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Texas and earned Academic All-America honors as a freshman while being named to the Junior College All-Star Team.
High School: Murray graduated from Bellaire High School where he played hardball for the Cardinals. He earned all-district honors his sophomore, junior and senior years while helping his team to four consecutive district championships with an overall record or 120-7.
Personal: Murray was born in Huntsville, Texas and is the son of David Gilbertson and Connie Craft. He is majoring in biology.
