Biography

Junior (2008): Garza made six appearances on the mound for the Aggies in 2008. In 18.1 innings he gave up only 13 runs and three walks. He threw in 5 2/3 innings against Louisiana Tech (5/18) allowing only four hits and helping the Aggies to a 15-13 victory over the Bulldogs. He set a season-high striking out six batters in that game.  During his first win as an Aggie, Garza helped defeat Sacramento State (4/26) by giving up only one hit and no runs as the squad beat the Hornets 5-3.

 

Sophomore (2007):  Garza made 15 appearances as a sophomore and had the most starts for the Aggies with 14.  He was fourth in ERA (8.25), fourth in opposing batting average (.342), fourth in innings pitched (60.0) and fifth in batters struck out (25).  In his third start with NMSU, he threw for five strong innings to pick up the win against Temple (2/25).  In that win he struck out two batters and gave up only two earned runs.  His next start was against Northwestern (3/4) in the Dallas Baptist Tournament where he pitched for three innings and stuck out a season high three batters, which he did three times.  Garza also struck out three batters against Nevada (3/31) when he was on the mound for five innings to get his second win of the season.  The Aggies beat the Wolf Pack that day 6-3.  In his final start as a sophomore, Garza hurled the ball for 4 2/3 innings against Dallas Baptist (5/17) in Farmington, N.M. and struck out three batters, but the Aggies fell 6-3.

 

Junior College:  Garza was a pitcher for North Central Junior College.

 

High School:  In 2005, Garza was a pitcher and shortstop for the Vikings.  The team won the District championship.  He also played football in high school as a defensive end.  His team had a 12-1 record and won the state championship.  Garza was named MVP for District 8 and named to the all-Star team for football.

 

Personal:  Noah was born in Dallas, Texas and is the son of Noe and Yolanda Garza.  He graduated form Nolan Catholic High School magna cum laude and is majoring in civil engineering.
