New Mexico State University Athletics

Sophomore (2013):  Wagner redshirted during the 2013 season.

Prior to NM State: Wagner played for Yavapai College during the 2012 season where the team placed second in its district. During his time on the Yavapai team, Wagner played at first and third base and was honored as a second team All-American. He hit .295 with four home runs, eight doubles and 40 RBIs in the season. Before joining the Yavapai team, Wagner attended the University of Arkansas during the Fall 2011 semester.

High School: Wagner played shortstop and third baseman during his time at Wheat Ridge High School in Wheat Ridge, Colo. During his senor campaign in 2011, Wagner earned first team all-conference, first team All-Colorado and was named to the Powershowcase All-American team and the Rockies Future Game. He hit .556, with 12 doubles, 12 home runs and 56 RBIs in the 2011 season. The team placed third in state during Wagner’s junior year at Wheat Ridge and second in state during his senior year.

Personal: Wagner is the son of Tyler and Shelly Wagner and was born in Sterling, Colo. He is majoring in finance and hopes to one day become a financial manager.  During his off time Wagner enjoys hunting, fishing and jet skiing.
