Red-shirt Junior (2008): Vendette earned a medical redshirt in 2007 and was eligible to play in 2008. He made 13 appearances, 12 of them starts and threw for 66 2/3 innings. He finished the season with a 7.43 ERA, while giving up 55 earned runs. He was third on the team in strikeouts with 41 and led the team in pick-offs with three. In his first start, Vendette pitched for 4 1/3 innings, striking out four batters and giving up only two earned runs, leading NM State to a 12-11 win over New Orleans (2/22). In his first conference game of the season, Vendette threw 6 2/3 innings against San Jose State (3/21), stuck out five batters and gave up only two earned runs. However, the Aggies were plagued by seven errors that led to seven runs as NM State lost 10-8. In his next appearance, Vendette worked 6 1/3 innings against Texas Pan-American (3/29) and stuck out three batters, then followed that with another 6 1/3 innings of work against conference foe Nevada (4/5) tallying six strikeouts in a 9-5 loss. NMSU got a great outing on the mound from Vendette, while he got great run support from his fellow teammates in game two of the double-header as the Aggies won 11-5 over Sacramento State (4/26). He threw a season-high eight innings and struck out five Hornets in the win. Vendette got his second win of the year as he worked for seven innings, struck out four batters, walked just two and gave up only two earned runs against the eventual National Champions (5/3).
Junior (2007): Before he sustained a season ending injury, Vendette made seven appearances on the hill. He threw for 11 2/3 innings and had a 6.17 ERA, as he struck out 14 batters. He earned his first win of the year as the Aggies beat Temple (2/23) 16-10. Vendette threw for 2 1/3 innings that day, struck out two batters and gave up three hits and two earned runs. He struck out a season high four batters against Utah (2/10) and against New Mexico (2/20).
Junior College: Vendette pitched as a sophomore for the Northeastern Oklahoma A& M College Golden Norsemen in the 2005-06 season, helping the Norsemen to the junior college world series in 2005.
High School: Vendette made it on the national junior team in Canada while in high school.
Personal: Sebastien is the son of Benoit Marsan and Chantal Bilodeau. He is majoring in individualized studies.
