29 Steven Anderson

Biography

Junior:  In his first season as an Aggie, Anderson played in 50 games and started in 17 games.  He also made two appearances on the mound, working 3.0 innings and striking out thee batters.  At the plate Anderson finished the year with a .314 batting average with 27 hits and 23 RBI.  He also had eight home runs with his first homerun coming against Chicago State (2/27), contributing to NM State's 28-2 victory. He concluded the 2009 season with a .640 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage. In the opening series of conference play, Anderson hit a solo home run against Sacramento State (4/5), which was No. 6 on the year for him. Anderson earned a season-high three RBI against San Francisco (3/21) and repeated that mark later in the season at Fresno State (5/21).  He ended the season with 23 RBI for the Aggies.

Junior College:  Anderson played in 49 games during his sophomore season and started in 39 of those games to lead Northeastern Oklahoma A&M to its second consecutive Bi-State Conference Championship, while he earned second-team all-conference honors.  He came up with a 33 hits and a .295 batting average with 42 RBI, while he tied for a team-high 12 home runs.  Anderson crossed the plate 33 times and had a .670 slugging percentage.  As a freshman Anderson got in on 50 games and started 47 helping Northeastern Oklahoma A&M to a Bi-State Conference Championship.  He blasted eight balls over the wall and had a total 44 hits to come up with a .288 batting average. Anderson finished the season with 11 doubles and 27 RBI to be a big-time contributor to the team.  On the defensive side of the field, Anderson was in on nine double-plays.

High School:  Anderson played volleyball and was a part of the curling team at Markville Secondary School in Markham, Ontario, Canada.  He led the volleyball team to a 9-1 record in 2002 and a York Region Championship, while earning Most Valuable Player Honors four times.  In his curling career, Anderson helped to come up with a 38-6 record and led the way to three regional championships and a provincial runner-up.  He was also the curling team MVP twice and was named the school's Male Athlete of the Year four times, which was the first time in school history for anyone to accomplish such a feat.

Personal:  Steven Anderson is the son of Jim and Lynn Anderson and was born in Ontario, Canada.  He is majoring in a bachelor's of individualized studies.
