Biography

Sophomore:  Torsney appeared in 10 games and started three in his sophomore season with the Aggies.  He pitched 27.0 innings and finished the season with a 2-1 record.  Torsney struck out 23 batters and set a season-high in strikeouts in a game with seven against Sacred Heart on Feb. 25.

Freshman: During his first year at NM State Torsney appeared in nine games and pitched over 11 innings in relief.  He finished the season with 10 strikeouts and did not give a single home run. 

During a doubleheader against Hawai'i (May 19), Torsney pitched one full inning during the first game, striking out three while allowing only one hit, then pitched over four innings in the second game allowing only three hits and one run.

High School: While attending Paracle High School in Lancaster, Calif., Torsney proved to be quite the player. He was a three-year varsity letter winner, named the 2007 Rookie of the Year and was the 2008 Coaches Award winner. He was also named to the all-league team in 2009 and to the All-CIF team as well as being named the team most valuable player that year.  Throughout high school, Torsney carried a sub 3.00 ERA while batting well over .400.

Personal: Torsney is the son of Tim and Brenda Torsney and is interested in becoming an engineer.
