New Mexico State University Athletics

Sophomore (2014): Freeman played 21 games, starting two, as a sophomore pitcher for NM State in 2014. He started against Utah Valley (May 4) and Chicago State (May 16) getting a no decision for both games. Freeman ended the season with a 4.74 ERA on 49.1 innings pitched leaving him with a 3-6 record. He also recorded two saves near the end of the season. Freeman was ranked second on the team in appearances with 21 as well as second in games in relief with 19.  He posted a 4.05 ERA in conference games and 4.56 in non-conference games. Freeman racked up 40 strikeouts in the season. There were 11 games in which he had multiple strikeouts in one game. Freeman had three or more strikeouts during a game seven times during the season. Defensively, Freeman recorded six assists and only one error on the season.

Prior to NM State: Freeman spent one season pitching for Brookhaven Junior College located in the Dallas area.  He finished the season with a 2.36 ERA and 97 strikeouts en route to earning first team all-conference and all-region recognition.  Brookhaven finished the season as regional champs and finished fourth during the National Junior College World Series.

High School: Freeman graduated from Wylie East High School located in Wylie, Texas, in 2012.  He played baseball during all four years at Wylie, earning recognition both as a pitcher and as a hitter.  As a junior, he had a 1.97 ERA and 51 strikeouts on the mound while hitting .395 with one homer at the plate.  During his senior season, Freeman had a 1.90 ERA with 64 strikeouts while hitting .385 and adding another home run.  He was a first team all-district selection as a hitter in 2011 and as a pitcher in 2012, when he was also the team MVP.

Personal: Freeman is the son of Paul and Trina Freeman and is majoring in business while at NM State.  He was born and raised in the Dallas area and hopes to one day coach baseball.
