Biography

Junior (2011): Voight played 53 games in the infield with seven games at shortstop and 46 at third base. Hitting .327 on the year, Voight was tied for second on the team in runs scored with 55 and led the team with three triples.  He tallied 30 walks and hade the second most at-bats with 196. The Aggies went 30-16 when Voight was playing third base as he marked 102 assists and 50 putouts on defense.  He was also in on 11 double plays. Voight tallied a team season-high four runs twice with the first coming April 16 in game one of a doubleheader against WAC foe San Jose State.  He went 3-for-3 with three RBI and a walk against the Spartans in that game while the Aggies came out with a 16-8 win.  The second time Voight tallied four runs came on May 20 against Hawai'i in Las Cruces.  He led the way to an 18-8 win going 1-of-4 at the dish with a triple while also being hit by a pitch. Voight posted a season-high three RBI three times. The first time he came up with three RBI he helped the Aggies to a 9-4 win over in-state rival New Mexico (March 8).

Junior College: Voight played two years of baseball at Navarro College. He participated in the 2010 Regional NJCAA Region 14/5 All-Star game and was selected as a third team All-American. In 2010 he posted 57 RBI with a .418 batting average. Voight helped the team finish the 2009 season 34-20 and third in Region-14 East Conference. The team was conference co-champs in 2010 finishing 35-18-1.

High School:  Voight played two years of baseball at Billy Ryan High School in Denton, Texas. He held the record for RBI and doubles in 2008 and was the 2007 Defensive MVP for District 5-4A. He was named the 2008 Offensive MVP for district 5-4A and was a member of the 2008 All-State team. Voight helped lead the Raiders to two district championships with a 24-12 finish in 2007 and a outstanding 28-8 finish in 2008 posting 46 RBI and five home runs.

Personal: Voight is the son of Bobby Voight and Patty Huneycutt. He was born and raised in Denton, Texas and is majoring in Individualized Studies.
