Appeared in 10 games in his second season with the program… tallied his first catch as an Aggie on Sept. 28 against rival New Mexico, hauling in a 12-yard reception on a scoring drive in the fourth quarter… Also served on multiple special teams units.
 
2023 (Junior)
Appeared in four games, participating primarily on special teams.
 
2022 (Sophomore at Western New Mexico)
Played in all 11 games… Recorded 23 catches for 285 yards while tallying four touchdown receptions… Averaged 12.4 yards per catch to lead all Mustangs with 20 or more receptions… Notched a season-high 77 receiving yards on a season-best seven catches to go along with a touchdown against Western Oregon on Sept. 17… Posted multiple catches in four of the Mustangs’ first five games of the season…  Caught two touchdowns against Midwestern State on Oct. 1… Hauled in a touchdown in the final game of the season at Eastern New Mexico on Nov. 12.
 
2021 (Freshman at Western New Mexico)
Played in all eleven games for WNMU in the 2021 season… Ortiz had a total of 585 yards with four touchdowns for the year… Posted a career high 132 receiving yards with a touchdown on just three catches in his collegiate debut… Secured four-plus catches in each of the Mustangs’ final three games of the season, including recording 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns on four catches against New Mexico Highlands on Nov. 21.

Ortiz is a 2021 graduate from Green Mountain High School where he played football, basketball and ran track.
