Brock Sherman enters his second season as a defensive graduate assistant on the New Mexico State football staff.
Before joining the Aggie coaching staff, Sherman won multiple times as both a coach and player at Northwest Missouri State University. As a coach, he served on a Division II National Championship winning staff, while winning two as a player.
As a graduate assistant during the 2017 season, Sherman helped coach the defensive line and linebackers for the Bearcats. During this time, the Bearcat defense was named the Division II top ranked total defense during his stints in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, the stout defense allowed zero rushing touchdowns across an entire season.
He helped with defensive game planning, helped create scouting reports of opponents offenses each week and coordinating the opponents punt return team.
As a recruiter during the 2016-17 seasons, Sherman organized the recruiting board and scholarship equivalency. He also set up official and unofficial recruiting visit schedules.
Prior to being a graduate assistant, Sherman served as a strength and conditioning intern at Montana University in 2016 and back at Northwest Missouri State in 2015.Â
As a player, Sherman was named a team captain for the 2015 Division II National Championship winning Northwest Missouri State squad. In 2015, he was also named an all-conference linebacker on top of a pair of national championships, Sherman also played on a team that won three conference championship from 2013-15.
Sherman earned his bachelors from Northwest Missouri State in 2016 with a major in Corporate Recreation and Wellness before returning to achieve his masters in Applied Health/Sports Scences from NW Missouri State in 2018.Â
