Kai Brown

Brown begins his first year as the defensive ends coach in 2017 after serving as a graduate assistant for New Mexico State the past three seasons.

During his first year in the City of Crosses, Brown worked with the defensive line before moving over to the linebacker corps the last two seasons while assisting with special teams all three years. His work with the secondary saw Rodney Butler named a Phil Steele Fourth-Team All-American and First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference after leading the nation with 165 tackles in 2016.

A native of Seattle, Wash., Brown played his collegiate career at Brown (2004-08) where he was a two-time All-Ivy Leaguer at defensive end.

Following his collegiate career, Brown spent four seasons with the Sacramento Mountain Lions (2009-12) of the United Football league where he played on both sides of the ball. During his time in Sacramento, Calif., Brown played for the great Dennis Green his first three seasons as a professional.

He then spent the 2013 season with the Iowa Barnstormers before joining the Aggie coaching staff in 2014 as a graduate assistant.

While playing in the UFL, Brown also coached a various camps throughout California – most notably the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and the FCA LA Game Changer Football Power Clinic.

Brown graduated with a degree in at Brown University in business economics. He recently received his MBA from New Mexico State University in December of 2016.
