Biography

2013 (Junior): Eakins recorded 29 tackles during the 2013 season, playing in 12 games on the defensive line.  He had a season-high four tackles twice, the first time coming against Florida Atlantic (Nov. 23) and the second against the Idaho (Nov. 30).  Eakins also had 1.5 tackles for a loss of four yards on the year.  His first career sack came against I-10 rival UTEP (Sept. 14) while recording six games with at least three tackles on the year.
San Bernardino Valley: Eakins played two seasons at San Bernardino Valley College at defensive end. He was named a second team all-conference pick each season. As a sophomore, Eakins played in nine games helping his team to a 6-4 record and a third-place finish in conference. He recorded 52 tackles and nine sacks on the season. Eakins also recorded 10 tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery.
High School: Eakins played both offensive and defensive line for the Granite High School Cougars. During his senior year, Eakins recorded 51 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery. He was named an All-CIF selection.
Personal: Eakins is the son of Andrew Eakins and Michelle Fisher James Eakins. He plans to major in individualized studies.
