Biography

2012 (Junior): Smith played 10 games for the Aggies on special teams in the 2012 season.  He recorded four tackles on the season.
2011 (Sophomore): Smith played in five games in 2011 on special teams and as a defensive back. He recorded just two tackles on the season, both against Fresno State (Nov. 12).
2010 (Freshman): Smith played in six games for the Aggies in 2010, recording eight tackles on the season. He had a career-high four tackles in the season finale against Hawai’i (Nov. 27). In his first action of the season against Fresno State (Oct. 16), Smith tallied two tackles.
High School: Smith played two seasons of varsity football at Morningstar High School. As a senior, Smith was a first team All-Ocean League selection and was picked to play in the Lions All-Star game. He recorded 80 tackles, three interceptions, including returning one for a touchdown and two forced fumbles at the safety position. He also played on special teams as a punt and kick returner, recording a punt return for a touchdown. As a junior, Smith tallied 40 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles all on his way to being named a second team All-Ocean League pick.
Personal: Smith is the son of John and Rachel Smith. He plans to major in criminal justice.
