Played in 12 games as a defensive lineman… Collected 14 tackles… Had a season-high four tackles against Minnesota (Sept. 7)… Recorded three tackles against I-10 rival UTEP (Sept. 14).

2012 (Redshirt Freshman)
A member of the defensive scout team and sat out after transferring from Michigan State.

Ranked among nation’s top defensive tackles by rivals.com (No. 46), Scouts, Inc. (No. 59) and scout.com (No. 97) and was rated among the Midland’s top prospects by SuperPrep (No. 46)… Also named to PrepStar’s All-Midlands Team and was chosen to play in the Class 4A/5A North-South All-Star Game in Las Cruces, N.m… Named a Class 5A First Team All-State selection on offense and defense as a senior by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association and was selected as the 2010 Class 5A Defensive player of the Year, Defensive lineman of the Year and Offensive lineman of the year by NMPreps.com… Was listed among Top 20 candidates for Mr. Football by NMPreps.com and named to the Class3-5A All-District team on both defensive and offensive lines… Recorded a career-best 72 tackles (54 solo tackles and 18 assisted tackles) as a senior, which included 13 for loss, despite missing three games due to injury… Anchored an offensive line that amassed more than 7,000 total yards, which included 700 total yards in the 69-42 victory over Manzano in the Class 5A championship game and was selected Defensive Line MVP and Combine MVP at the 2010 NMPreps.com’s Elite 100 Camp… Earned NMHSCA First Team All-State honors as a defensive lineman in 2009 after posting 54 tackles (37 solo tackles and 17 assisted tackles) with four tackles for loss and three sacks.
