Biography

2007-08 (Freshman): DeAngelo Jones played in 12 games as a freshman for the Crimson and White. He averaged 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest. Jones scored a career-high seven points on 3-of-6 shooting against LeMoyne-Owen (Nov. 18), which was only his second career collegiate game. He also grabbed two rebounds in 13 minutes of action. In his first WAC game, Jones hit a 3-pointer, which gave the Aggies 100 points, in the win against Utah State (Jan. 26) that was broadcast nationally on ESPN2. Versus Hawai’i (March 8), he had six points, on a 3-of-4 shooting performance, and a pair of rebounds in the regular season finale.

 

High School: Jones, who played his senior season at Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, Wash., helped the Vikings to a 20-9 overall record and a 13-3 mark in the Metro League Southern Division. Jones averaged a team-best 16.2 points per game as a senior while he scored 20 points or more 11 times. Jones was sidelined the majority of his junior season with a foot injury. As a sophomore at Kennedy High School, Jones averaged 27 points per game and was rated as one of the top sophomores in the state of Washington.

 

Personal: Jones was born and raised in Seattle, Wash., and is the son of Victor and Chela Jones. He is undecided on a major.
