Biography

2011-12 (Senior)

In his final season, Rahman was a vital contributor for the Aggies. He earned honorable mention All-WAC honors, the first of his career, after averaging 9.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, which ranked second on team and eighth in the WAC. He started in all 36 games and led the Crimson and White in blocked shots (39). Rahman finished his career with 137 blocks, a mark that is second on NM State's all-time list. He also became the 30th member of the Aggie 1,000-point club in 2011-12. Rahman concluded his career with 1,081 points, which ranked No. 21 on the Aggies' all-time scoring list. He ended his time in Las Cruces with many top 10 Aggie rankings including second in career free throw attempts (593), tied for third in games played (124), fifth in career field goal percentage (55.2) and seventh in both career rebounds (737) and career free throws made (309). In 2011-12, Rahman was sixth on the single-season list for free throw attempts (205) and tied for seventh in single-season field goal percentage (60.0), which was also second in the WAC. Rahman supplied the Aggies with a pair of double-doubles in 2011-12 and recorded 10 in his career. He posted 17 double-figure scoring games in his senior season along with three 20-plus scoring games. Rahman recorded his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds, a season-high mark, against Western New Mexico (Dec. 14). Against in-state New Mexico (Dec. 28), he scored 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Rahman had his first 20-point game of the season at San Jose State (Jan. 19), when he provided 20 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field, which was in the middle of a five-game double-figures streak. Against Louisiana Tech (Feb. 4), Rahman scored 20 points on a 7-of-10 showing from the field. On senior night, he then tied a career-high in points with 22 versus San Jose State (Feb. 25). In his second double-double of the year, Rahman also grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a season-high five shots against the Spartans.

2010-11 (Junior)

In his third season in the Crimson and White, Rahman played in 23 games and started in 16 contests, while he slowed by injuries in 2010-11. He averaged 7.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, which ranked second on the team. He shot 48.6 percent from the field (53-of-109) and 51.8 percent from the free-throw line (59-114). Rahman added 12 blocked shots, eight steals and five assists. Rahman posted seven games in double-figures and began the 2010-11 campaign with a season-high 18 points at Louisiana (Nov. 12). In the season opener, Rahman also added seven rebounds, one block and one assist with 6-of-9 shooting from the field and free-throw line. He followed that showing with 11 points and eight rebounds in the home opener against Western New Mexico (Nov. 15). One of Rahman's best performances of the year was his lone double-double of the season at New Mexico (Dec. 11) with 14 points and 17 rebounds, a mark that tied his career high. In the WAC home opener against Fresno State, he scored 11 points and was 5-for-7 at the line. Rahman recorded two additional double-digit games in conference play with 11 points against Idaho (Jan. 29) and 14 points at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 12).

2009-10 (Sophomore)

As a sophomore, Rahman started in 33 games for the Aggies in 2009-10. He averaged 10.3 points per game in his second season in the Crimson and White. Rahman's 8.0 rebounds per game ranked sixth in the WAC and No. 99 in the NCAA. On the glass, he posted a WAC-best 3.58 offensive rebounds per game and ninth-best 4.42 defensive rebounds per contest. Rahman posted seven double-doubles in his sophomore campaign. He shot 55.4 percent from the field, which ranked eighth in the WAC. Rahman led the Aggies with 42 blocked shots and was seventh in the conference (1.27 per game), which included a league-high seven blocks in a game against Idaho (Feb. 24), a career-high mark. Rahman started the year strong with a career-high 22 points in the season opener at Saint Mary's (Nov. 13). That performance began a stint of six consecutive double-digit games. At Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 24), he posted his first of three straight double-doubles with 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Titans. Rahman grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds at Pepperdine (Dec. 18) and matched his career-high 22 points at Louisiana Tech (Jan. 30). Rahman was named the Verizon Wireless WAC Player of the Week (Feb. 1) after he led the Aggies to a 91-77 road victory at Louisiana Tech, handing the Bulldogs their first home loss of the season. He shot a career best with 10 made field goals and 15 attempts, and was a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. He also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds with one block in the contest. In WAC games, he ranked fifth in rebounds (8.2), 10th in field goal percentage (52.9), tied for fourth in blocks (1.44), third in offensive rebounds (3.69) and tied for 10th in defensive rebounds (4.50).

2008-09 (Freshman)

Rahman anchored the Aggies in the paint with 28 games started as a freshman in 2008-09. He averaged 6.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game with a 53 field goal percentage. Rahman led NM State in blocked shots with 44. In his first game and first collegiate start against UC Riverside (Nov. 15), Rahman scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds. He also seized eight boards against Sacramento State (Dec. 11). Rahman had a breakout performance in his first rivalry game at UTEP (Dec. 20). He scored a season-high 19 points on a 5-of-7 performance from the field and a 9-for-10 free-throw line shots to lead the Aggies at the Don Haskins Center. In the next home game against Loyola Marymount (Dec. 28), Rahman set another then career-best mark with five blocks. He posted his second double-figures performance with 12 points versus New Mexico (Dec. 30). In only his second career WAC game (Jan. 5), Rahman scored 13 points at San Jose State including two free throws with 2.7 seconds left in regulation that gave the Aggies a 75-73 win. At Nevada (Feb. 7), he collected his fourth double-digit performance with 11 points in the 62-60 win that was nationally televised on ESPN2.

High School

As a senior, Rahman led American Christian School to a 24-9 record. He averaged 10 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks per game. In his sophomore campaign at Franklin High School in Somerset, N.J., Rahman averaged 10.1 points per game while he shot 49 percent from the floor. He led the Warriors in blocks, 49, and rebounds, 168, which ranks third and seventh on the school's single-season list. A year prior, Rahman blocked 25 shots as a freshman and that mark is ninth in the Warriors record book. In 2005, he attended the Reebok ABCD Camp. Rahman also played for the New Jersey All-Stars AAU team.

Personal

Rahman was born in Somerset, N.J., and is the son of Abdul and Zalikatu Rahman. He is majoring in individualized studies.
