As a true point guard, Luster had 11 multiple-assist games. At Boise State (Jan. 10), he contributed a career-high five points, two assists and two steals off the bench. High School: Luster, a Hoover High School graduate, is San Diego’s all-time leader in career assists and career steals with 857 and 559, respectively. Luster’s 559 career steals also rank him third all-time nationally and second in the state of California. Luster, who entered his senior season looking to join NBA superstar Jason Kidd as the only two high school players in history to have 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 500 steals in a high school career, played just 11 games for Hoover before a car accident sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Luster ended his career with 1,890 points. He was a three-time Student Sports Magazine All-American, a three-time all-state selection, a two-time Central League Player of the Year, a four-time All-Central League pick and the 2004 California Freshman of the Year. Luster led Hoover to two league titles, two California Interscholastic Federation finals appearances and one CIF championship. He averaged 19.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.8 steals and 4.3 rebounds in four seasons.  He ended the year averaging 23.3 points, 7.7 assists and 7.1 steals per game as a senior. As a junior, Luster led the Cardinals to a school record 28 wins (28-6) and its first CIF San Diego Championship in 44 years.

Personal: Luster was born in San Diego, Calif., and is the son of Laini Patton. He is majoring in business management.
