Biography
2010-11 (Junior)
Diop played in six games as a junior in 2010-11. He averaged 1.3 points per game. Diop shot 50.0 percent from the field (2-of-4) and 66.7 percent from the 3-point line (2-of-3). He scored a career-high six points in the 78-46 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State (Dec. 16). Diop made his first career field goal against the Aggies including a pair of 3-pointers.
2009-10 (Sophomore)
Diop didn’t make an appearance for the Aggies in the 2009-10 season.
2008-09 (Freshman)
In his first year with the Aggies, Diop made his first collegiate appearance at Hawai’i (March 7). NM State won the regular season finale 70-59.
High School
The Aggies continue to have international players on the roster with the addition of Dakar, Senegal, native Diop. He graduated from St. Jeanne D’Arc in 2007 after playing for head coach Ferdinand Coly for two seasons. Diop spent three years playing for Rivers and head coach Serigne Mbaye Sylla.
Personal
Diop is the son of Abdoulaye Makhtar Diop and Mame Aw Gueye. He is pursuing a degree in finance.
