Biography

2003-04 (Junior):  Clift started 27 of 29 games for the Aggie during the 2003-04 campaign.  She finished the year averaging 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game and recorded 18 assists, 16 steals and eight blocks.  She scored a season high six points against Florida International and UTEP and grabbed a season high eight boards against Nevada, just one rebound shy of her career high of nine boards.  She finished fifth on the team in field goal percentage (.348).  She shot over .500 from the field on 12 occasions and grabbed at least three boards in 17 games.  She finished the season with career highs for blocks (8), assists (18), steals (16) and rebounds per game (3.0) for a season.

 

2002-03 (Sophomore):  Clift appeared in 23 games while starting eight for the Aggies in 2002-03.  She averaged 2.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.  She led the Aggies in rebound twice, averaging eight rebounds in those two games.  She recorded career-highs in points (12) and rebounds (9) against Cal State-Northridge.  She recorded two games with double-digit points, against Cal State-Northridge and Nevada (10).  She led the team in rebounds twice, coming against Cal State-Northridge and Nevada.

 

2001-2002 (Freshman):  Clift played in 28 games, started 17 and averaged 16.2 minutes per game as a true freshman. She averaged 2.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, shot 40.8 percent from the floor.  She shot at least 50 percent from the floor in seven games, including a career high 83.3 percent (5-6) against Arkansas-Little Rock (2/15/02).  She scored a career high 10 points against New Mexico (12/18/01), UTEP (12/20/01) and Arkansas-Little Rock (2/14/02).  Clift had a career high nine rebounds against South Alabama (1/5/02).  Clift led the Aggies in rebounding once, with eight boards against Arkansas-Little Rock. 

 

High School:  Clift was coached by Lynn Lewallen at Norman High School, where she lead the team to three consecutive 20-win seasons and a spot in the state Class 6A state tournament semifinals as a sophomore and a #1 state ranking as a senior.  She averaged 14 points and seven rebounds per game as a senior and was an All-State, All-City, and All-Conference selection. 

 

Personal:  Amanda Clift is the daughter of Doug and Bonnitz Clift.  She is undecided on her college major, but her career goal is to work in physical therapy.
