Biography

JUNIOR (2009): A two-time Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week in 2009, Giddens averaged 4.00 kills per set and ranked in the top-50 nationally. She was also a first team All-WAC selection and was named to the WAC All-Tournament Team as she posted 3.78 kills per set in the tournament.  In league play, Giddens averaged 4.47 kills per set, which led all players in the WAC.  The Aggies knew they had a good outside hitter when Giddens posted 21 kills in her very first match with the team.  She also tallied seven digs and three total blocks against Southern Methodist (8/28) that day. Giddens earned her first player of the week honor, Sept. 28 after she averaged 4.27 kills per set in three matches.  She also posted a double-double against UTEP (9/22) with 14 kills and 14 digs and versus Louisiana Tech (9/27) with 19 kills and 13 digs.  Her second player of the week honor came Nov. 9, after she marked double-doubles against Boise State (11/5) and Idaho (11/7).  She tallied 15 kills and 11 digs in a sweep of the Broncos, before she marked a career-high 25 kills while adding 12 digs in a five-set win over the Vandals. The 25 kills that day were the most by an Aggie all season.  She also had the second most kills in a match with 24 against San Jose State (10/24).  Giddens ended the year posting 16 kills and 13 digs against nationally ranked Colorado State as the Aggies won in four sets.

JUNIOR COLLEGE:  Giddens attended Frank Park College before transferring to NM State. While at FPC, Giddens and her 2007 team earned a spot in the NCJAA National Volleyball Championship Final Four and finished fourth in the nation. The team was also Region V Champions as well as Western Junior College Athletic Conference Champions. Giddens finished the 2007 season with All-American honors and earned a spot on the Nationals All-Tournament team. She was also an all-region and all-conference selection. As a sophomore, she was selected as a NJCAA Preseason All-American. She was named most valuable player in three tournaments in 2008 and received all-tournament honors at the Tyson Foods Invitational. She received all-conference honors and helped her team win the 2008 WJCAC championship for the second straight year.
