Biography

2008-09 – Junior

Scroggins played in 10 games for the Aggies in 2008-09 and averaged one point and two rebounds per game. Eight of her 10 games played on the year came in the first eight games of the season with her best game coming at I-10 rival UTEP, Nov. 20. In that four-point loss to the Miners, Scroggins led the Aggies with seven rebounds in 27 minutes of action. On Nov. 29 against Texas A&M Corpus Christi in the Hotel Encanto Thanksgiving Classic, Scroggins recorded a career-high three steals to lead NM State to a 74-47 victory, its biggest win of the season. She finished the year shooting 2-of-7 from the field, 5-of-8 at the free-throw line and had four steals, one assist and one blocked shot.

 

2006-08 - Pratt Community College            

Scroggins averaged 9.5 points and a team-leading 6.6 rebounds per game for Pratt Community College. In the 2007-08 season Scroggins played in all 30 games for the Beavers, shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 72.6 percent from the free-throw line. She had the second most steals on the team with 45 and she blocked 14 shots to go along with 14 assists.

 

High School                   

Scroggins was a two-time all-state selection for Mineral Springs High School under coach Beverly Tallman. She led her team to a 33-2 record as a senior and the last of three-straight district championships. Scroggins was a three-time all-district and all-region selection. She won the most outstanding player team award twice and the offensive player of the year award twice as well. She led Mineral Springs in rebounding and free-throw shooting for two years. Scroggins was also a thrower on the track and field team, earning most outstanding field event athlete honors in three separate seasons.

 

Personal                          

Ashley Scroggins (pronunced scrog-gens) was born Dec. 28, 1987 and is the daughter of Eva Green. She plans on majoring in business administration. She was voted the homecoming queen while at Pratt Community College.
