2010 (JUNIOR): Kuester played in 65 sets during 24
matches for NM State in 2010. She
tallied a .226 hitting percentage marking 33 kills on 84 attempts. Kuester came up with a season-high five kills
to go along with a season-high .273 hitting percentage, helping the Aggies to a
five-set victory over Boise State (10/14) in Las Cruces. Kuester came up with
36 total blocks on the year and tallied at least four total blocks in four
different matches.
2009 (SOPHOMORE): Kuester appeared in 29 sets in 11
matches for Texas Tech during the 2009 season.
She posted 20 kills and 11 errors in 50 attempts for a .180 hitting
percentage. Her best match was against
Bowling Green State (9/5), when she marked five kills on 12 attempts with only
one error. She finished the year with
three solo blocks and 19 block assists.
2008 (JUNIOR COLLEGE): Kuester played junior college
volleyball at Iowa Western Community College and led her team to a 52-4 record
while it finished fourth in the nation at the National Junior College
Association National Tournament. She
finished the season with 217 total blocks, which ranked in the top 10 for
blocks in a single-season at IWCC. She
had a .404 hitting percentage and earned the Presidential Scholar Award her
freshman year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Kuester
was a three-year starter at Norfolk Catholic High School in Norfolk, Neb.,
under coaches Gail Borgmann and Suzanne Uhlir.
She earned second team class C1 all-state honors during her senior
season and held the record for most service aces in a season that year. Kuester helped lead the team to its first
undefeated season in 2007, while she was on the honor roll all four years of
high school. She was also listed in the
American Who's Who Association among high school students.
PERSONAL: Kuester was born in Marshall, Minn., and
is the daughter of Dan and Carla Kuester.
A gifted singer, Kuester tried out for American Idol when the popular TV
show was in Omaha, Neb. She is majoring in nutrition.
