2006-07: Kmitaite-Smith took a redshirt due to personal reasons.

2005-06: Kmitaite-Smith, a junior college transfer, was NMSU’s second-leading scorer with 9.5 points per game and added 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest as well. She helped lead the Aggies to their first win of the year with a 17-point, 10-rebound performance at UC Irvine on December 14 as New Mexico State routed the Anteaters 88-64. Back at home exactly two weeks later against Sacramento State, Kmitaite-Smith’s 19 points and 5-for-8 shooting from three-point land led the Aggies to a 75-58 victory. She scored 17 points in a 72-69 double overtime win at Hawai’i on January 14 and dished out a career-high six assists in the rematch at the Pan American Center on March 2. Kmitaite-Smith also had eight rebounds in that game. In two contests early in the season against I-10 rivals UTEP, she scored 22 and 21 points, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor in the first match up in El Paso on November 22 and making all 10 of her free throws in the series with the Miners.

Midland College: Kmitaite led the Lady Chaps in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game, while making 96 three pointers her sophomore season (2004-05). Kmitaite earned Western Junior College Athletic Conference and All-Region V honors, along with being named Midland’s MVP in her second season at Midland. The Lady Chaps went 43-19 in Kmitaite’s two seasons.

High School: Kmitaite graduated from Kouno Kovo-11 High School in Sirvintos, Lithuania.

Personal: Irma Kmitaite was born December 26, 1984 in Sirvintos, Lithuania, and is the daughter of Gintautas Kmitas and Vitalija Kmitiene. Kmitaite married Jeremy Smith in December 2005.  She is majoring in Family Consumer Science.
