Biography
2011-12 - Junior
Magazzeni played in 23 games at the forward position as a
junior. Magazzeni scored a season high of four points at Fresno State (March
3). She pulled down a career high seven boards against Southern Utah (Nov. 27)
and matched her career high of 30 minutes of floor time against the
Thunderbirds. Magazzeni averaged 0.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per
game. She totaled 31 rebounds and 10 points on the year. She shot 29.4 percent
from the field and went 0-for-2 at the foul line. She concluded the year as a
member of the Academic All-WAC Team for a third straight season.
2010-11 -
Sophomore
Magazzeni played in 24 games at the forward position as a
sophomore. Magazzeni scored a season high of two points on five occasions. She
pulled down a season high five boards at Michigan (Dec. 13). Magazzeni averaged
0.5 points and 1.0 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game. She totaled 24 rebounds
and 11 points on the year. She shot 29.4 percent from the field and 16.7
percent at the foul line. She concluded the year as a member of the Academic
All-WAC Team for a second straight season.
2009-10 - Freshman
Magazzeni played in 27 games at the forward position in
2009-10 to help lead the Aggies to their first postseason appearance in 16
years. She played a career high of 30 minutes in the Aggies' WNIT game at
Arizona State (March 17). Magazzeni scored a career high seven points at
Hawai'i on Feb. 10. She pulled down a career high six boards versus LA Tech
(Feb. 17). Magazzeni averaged 1.1 points in 10.6 minutes per game. She totaled
69 rebounds and 31 points on the year. She shot 36.1 percent from the field and
50.0 percent at the foul line. She concluded the year as a member of the
Academic All-WAC Team.
High School
Magazzeni won two Class 5A state championships under
coach Miner Webster at Highland High School. In her last two years she led the
Hawks to a 68-4 record, including a 35-1 mark as a senior. In 2009, the Hawks
had a No. 1 state ranking and were ranked No. 17 in the nation by MaxPreps.com.
She averaged 6.8 points and a team-leading 7.7 rebounds per game as a senior
with 57 blocks, 48 steals and 28 assists. She had nine double-digit scoring
games, 10 double-digit rebound games and two games with 15 or more rebounds.
Magazzeni shot 42 percent from the field and 70 percent at the free-throw line
in her senior season. As a junior she led the Hawks to a 33-3 record and their
first of back-to-back state championships, she had a team-best 7.2 rebounds per
game to go along with her 31 steals and 23 blocked shots. Magazzeni played club
basketball with the Arizona Silver Streaks that had four players go on to play Division
I basketball. She was also a middle hitter on the Highland Hawks volleyball
team.
Personal
Magazzeni was born Nov. 18, 1990 in Mesa, Ariz.,
and is the daughter of Tom and Mele Magazzeni. She comes from an athletic
family. Her father, Tom, played football at Arizona State and she has uncles
that played football at Wisconsin and Youngstown State. Her aunt, Laurie Kemp,
played volleyball at Hawai'i. She is majoring in clothing, textiles and fashion
merchandising.
