Biography

 

Freshman (2010): In her first season in Crimson and White, De La Vina played in all 18 matches and started in eight contests. She scored three goals and recorded three assists as a freshman. De La Vina was also 1-of-1 on penalty kicks in 2010. She attempted 20 shots with nine shots on goal. De La Vina posted her first career goal in the 8-0 win over Prairie View A&M (Aug. 29). In the 8-0 win over Alabama A&M (Sept. 17), she collected her second score on her first career penalty kick. De La Vina also helped the Aggies claim their first WAC win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Fresno State (Oct. 15), with her third goal of the year.

 

High School/Club: De La Vina arrives in Las Cruces from Gilbert, Ariz., and Mesquite High School. She was a three-time member of the Olympic Development Program State Team. De La Vina has started every varsity match since her freshman season, and she earned first team All-Fiesta Region honors as a junior and sophomore. In her first season with the Wildcats, she was a second team all-region selection. De La Vina plays club soccer for Sereno 92 White.

 

Personal: De La Vina was born in Mesa, Ariz., and is the daughter of Chuck Hegelheimer and Donna De La Vina Hegelheimer. She is majoring in kinesiology and exercise science.
