Biography

2009 (Freshman): In her first season with the Aggies, Martinez made an appearance in 11 matches and first played in the home opener against Idaho State (Aug. 23). She scored her first career goal in a 2-1 double overtime loss at Louisiana Tech (Oct. 23). With less than two minutes to play in regulation, Martinez tied the match at 1-1 to force extra time.

 

High School/Club: Martinez was a midfielder from Burges High School in El Paso, Texas. She led the Mustangs to three consecutive runner-up finishes in the El Paso Independent School District. As a junior, Martinez was named a first team El Paso Times 2007 All-District Midfielder, the 2008 El Paso Times 1-4A All-District Offensive Most Valuable Player and a 2008 all-city midfielder. She scored 22 goals, supplied 15 assists and recorded 22 saves during her junior season. As a senior, Martinez was tabbed as a 2009 El Paso Times Player to Watch For. She earned first team all-district and all-city honors following her senior campaign.

 

Personal: She was born in El Paso, Texas, and is the daughter of Eric and Nadine Fournier. Martinez is majoring in history.
