Biography

2012 (Senior): In her final season in Las Cruces, Cope appeared in all 19 matches and started the final 17 contests of the year. She fired 13 shots and posted two shots on goal in 2012. Cope played 1347 minutes as a senior, which was the fourth most on the squad. In the second match of the season versus Idaho State (Aug. 19), Cope tied a career best with three shots. Additionally, Cope earned Academic All-WAC honors for her success in the classroom.

2011 (Junior): Cope appeared in seven matches and started in a pair of games as a junior due to an injury that sidelined her. She recorded one assist and three shots in 2011. In her first start of the season, she had an assist, the third of her career, and two shots in the 7-0 win over Embry-Riddle (Sept. 23). 

2010 (Sophomore): Cope appeared in all 18 matches with 15 contests started in 2010. She scored two goals and recorded two assists in her sophomore season. Cope attempted 16 shots with five shots on goal. She posted her first career assist in the 8-0 win over Prairie View A&M (Aug. 29). Cope had an assist in the 4-0 win over Lamar (Sept. 19). She scored her first goal of the season in the 2-1 win at Wyoming (Sept. 26). Cope also had the Aggies lone goal in a 4-1 loss at Idaho (Oct. 10). Off the field, Cope earned Academic All-WAC honors.

2009 (Freshman): In her freshman campaign, Cope played in 18 matches with 14 starts. She scored a pair of game-winning goals in 2009 against Boise State (Oct. 2) and at Fresno State (Oct. 9), which ranked second on the team. Cope also tied for third in goals (three) and points (six), and she ranked fifth in shots (16) and shots on goal (seven). Against Boise State, Cope gave NM State a 1-0 decision in overtime with her first career goal. She also scored against Idaho (Oct. 4) to tie the match at 2-2, eventually leading to NM State's 3-2 victory. Cope then became the first player in school history to earn WAC Offensive Player of the Week honors (Oct. 5), after she guided the Aggies to a pair of conference wins over the Broncos and Vandals in the WAC opening weekend. She followed that performance with the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory at Fresno State, which was the Aggies' first WAC road win. She earned Academic All-WAC Freshman/Transfer team honors.

High School/Club: Cope was a midfielder/forward from La Mirada High School in La Mirada, Calif. She led the Matadors to the California Interscholastic Federation Tournament Championship for four consecutive seasons. As a senior, Cope had seven goals and five assists en route to a first team all-area selection. She earned second team All-CIF and second team All-Suburban League honors after taking La Mirada to the CIF quarterfinals. Cope played in the Southern Section Senior All-Star Game. Cope paced the Matadors to four consecutive Suburban League Championships. As a junior, she guided La Mirada to the Division III Championship and posted three goals and eight assists. Cope scored eight goals and added three assists in her sophomore season when La Mirada made the CIF semifinals. In her freshman season, Cope scored four goals and tallied two assists while directing the Matadors to the CIF quarterfinals. Cope was a member of the OC Premier Strikers that was ranked No. 7 in southern California.

Personal: Cope is the daughter of Larry and Anne Cope, and she was born in La Habra, Calif. She is majoring in community health.
