Biography

2013 (Freshman): Canizalez finished the season with 18 appearances and 13 starts as a defender. Canizalez also played a total of 1,254 minutes including four games where she played more than 100 minutes. Canizalez helped stall Bakersfield in double overtime as the Aggies picked up the 2-1 win to close out the season. The Aggie defense helped force nine extra-time games while holding three teams scoreless on the year. She was named to the Academic All-WAC Freshman/Transfer team.

High School/Club: A defender, Canizalez joined the Aggies from Las Vegas, Nev., and Shadow Ridge High School. During the 2011-12 season, she led the Mustangs to a 13-4-2 record. Canizalez earned All-Northwest League honors. She was also the best defensive player for the Mustangs. In 2012 and 2013, Canizalez was selected for the player development program camp for her conference in Elite Clubs National League. She received an invite to the id2 Camp for the U.S. National Team in 2011. Canizalez guided her club team to a regionals win in 2007, which was the first team from Nevada to win the title. Additionally, Canizalez led Heat FC to five state cup titles.

Personal: Canizalez is the daughter of Danilo Canizalez and Mercedes Canizalez, and she was born in Panorma City, Calif. She is majoring in criminal justice.
