Biography

2006 (FRESHMAN):  Jessee Ericson did not play and redshirted the 2006 season. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Ericson came to New Mexico State after graduating Westwood High School in Austin, Texas.  A four-year letterwinner at Westwood, Ericson was the Warriors’ starting setter in each of her four seasons.  Ericson is the school’s all-time assists leader with 3,037 career assists.  In four seasons, Ericson tallied 328 kills, 121 service aces, 554 digs and 138.5 total blocks while helping the Warriors to a combined record of 106-38.  Ericson received numerous awards and accolades over her prep career, including being named one of the top 250 Senior Aces in the U.S. by prepvolleyball.com.  She was also named one of the top 50 recruits in 2006 by prepvolleyball.com and to the 2005 All-Texas Team by lonestarvolleyball.com.  Ericson also had a distinguished career in the classroom as she was a four-time Academic All-District 15-5A honoree and Academic All-State selection as a senior.  In her first season of high school volleyball, Ericson was named the Texas Newcomer of the Year by lonestarvolleyball.com while directing the Warriors to a 22-13 record and a fourth-place finish in the district.  As a sophomore, she was named one of the top 79 high school sophomore in the country by prepvolleyball.com and led Westwood to the District 15-5A title and a fifth-place finish in the state.  In 2004, Ericson was named a captain of her squad while guiding the Warriors to a 24-11 overall record and a third-place showing in the district.  In her final season of high school volleyball, Ericson led the Warriors to a co-district championship and a 27-8 overall record.  Ericson was named the co-setter in the district and a TGCA All-Star 4A-5A.  She also experienced great success on the international stage in high school as she participated with the National Jr. Olympics program from 2001 to 2005.  In 2005, Ericson helped her Junior Olympics team to a National Gold Medal performance.

 

PERSONAL:  Jessica Meaghan Ericson was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and is the daughter of Roy and Patti Ericson.  She is undecided on a major.
