HIGH SCHOOL: Carson is a 2004 graduate of Montwood High School in El Paso, Texas, and played for head coach Marian Bennett. She is a two-time first team All-District honoree (2001, 2002), has been named to the first team All-City (2002, 2003), Outstanding Hitter honors and Fall 2003 All-Academic Team by the El Paso Times. She was named to the 2003 Odessa and Franklin All-Tournament teams and was the Most Outstanding Hitter at the 2003 San Angelo Tournament. She finished 2003 with 484 kills, 64 aces, 23 blocks and 239 digs. MHS finished the 2003 season two points shy of the District 1-5A championship match.

PERSONAL: Katy Leigh Carson was born in El Paso, Texas and is the daughter of Rick and Allison Carson. Carson is undecided on a major at New Mexico State.
