Biography

HIGH SCHOOL: Gutierrez comes to NM State after earning four letters at Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas.  As an outside hitter, Gutierrez led the Cougars to three league championships (2006-08) and three bi-district championships (2007-08).   She was named newcomer of the year in 2007 and earned all-district and most valuable player honors in 2008.  Gutierrez made the all-tournament teams at the Duncanville (Texas) Tournament and Margarett Hussman Tournament.  She finished her career with 1,302 kills, 291 aces and 1,499 digs.

PERSONAL: Gutierrez is the daughter of Ricardo and Alba Gutierrez and was born in Santiago Del Estero, Argentina.  She is majoring in biology.
