WACO, Texas – The New Mexico State baseball team fell to San Diego 10-1 on Saturday at Baylor Ballpark. The Torreros held the Aggies to just four hits and held hitless for four and a third innings.

The game began as a pitcher's duel with both staffs throwing shutouts for the first two innings.

USD broke the seal first as they scored two in the in the top of the third. The runs came on a two-RBI single to left. The Torreros scored another run in the fifth on a RBI double to center.

The Aggies broke up USD starter Troy Conyers' no-hit bid in the fifth as
Austin Botello laced a single into right field. Botello then advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Cameron Haskins singled to center, scoring Botello.

San Diego broke the game open in the sixth with a four-run frame. The first two runs came on a RBI single through the left side. The third run scored on an E4. The fourth run came on a bunt single to third base, making the score 7-1.

The Torreros would scatter three more runs across two innings.

The Aggies will finish the weekend tournament on Sunday with a 3 p.m. game against Baylor.
