LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After hitting a two-run and a three-run home run,
Daniel Johnson showed out for the third-straight game, helping the Aggies to a 13-6 series sweep over Sacramento State. Johnson's six RBI on Sunday set a new individual season high for NM State. On the weekend, Johnson went 10-for-15 at the plate totaling 13 RBI, four home runs and seven runs scored.

Sacramento State got on the board first in the top of the second. After taking the first pitch for a ball, Chris Lewis hit a solo homer to left field to lead off the inning.

NM State rallied back in the bottom of the third as
Mason Fishback led off with a single to left field. On a full count,
Trey Stine belted a ball over the left field fence putting the Aggies up 2-1.

The Hornets tied the game up in the fourth. The tying run came in on a single to left. They took the lead in the fifth, scoring three runs. The first run scored on a triple to right center. The second run scored on a sacrifice fly to left. The third run scored on a single to left center.

The Aggies tied it up in the bottom half as
Mason Fishback doubled to center to lead off.
Trey Stine drew a 3-1 walk with Fishback advancing to third on a wild pitch.
Brent Sakurai doubled to left center, scoring Fishback.
Daniel Johnson grounded out to second, but scored Stine.
Greg Popylisen grounded out to second, but brought in Sakurai.

NM State busted the game open in the sixth as
Dan Hetzel unloaded on a pitch, sending over the left field wall for a lead off bomb.
Tristen Carranza reached first after being hit by a pitch. On a 1-2 pitch,
Mason Fishback launched his third home run of the weekend to left, this one a two-run shot.
Brent Sakurai singled to third. On the first pitch,
Daniel Johnson hit his third home run of the weekend off the scoreboard in left center, giving the Aggies a 10-4 lead.

Sac State got one run back in the seventh. The run came in on a single to left.

The Aggies were not quite done scoring in the eighth, as
Trey Stine drew a full count walk.
Brent Sakurai followed suit, drawing a four pitch walk. Both runners moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. On a full count,
Daniel Johnson hit a towering three-run blast to left field, his second homer of the day and fourth of the weekend.

Joe Galindo came in to pitch in the ninth, and clinched the 13-6 victory with two strikeouts and a fly out to left center.

The Aggies are back in action on Tuesday as they face New Mexico in the final game of the Rio Grande Rivalry Series in Las Cruces.
