Las Cruces, N.M. – The New Mexico State equestrian team is set to host top-ranked Texas A&M at 10 a.m. MT this Saturday, Jan. 28, at the New Mexico State Equestrian Center.
Head coach Robin Walters shared her thoughts on the matchup saying, "We look forward to the match up against Texas A&M. Our practices have been going really well and the team's focus is to stay in the moment and enjoy the ride. I am confident that the team will ride their best on Saturday."
NM State finished the fall season at 3-4 and won their most recent matchup against West Texas A&M, 12-4. Before the New Year, multiple Aggies had picked up rider of the month honors as
Karianna Knezevich earned NCEA Rider of the Month, while she and
Katlynn Crine received UEC Riders of the Month honors.
Saturday's competition will begin promptly at 10 a.m., opening with horsemanship and equitation over fences. These events will then be followed by reining and equitation on the flat.
After the contest with Texas A&M, the team will then hit the road to take on SMU in Dallas, Texas on Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. MT.
