NM State Equestrian squad welcomes TCU on Friday and SDSU on Saturday

Las Cruces, N.M. – The New Mexico State equestrian team is set to host the TCU Horned Frogs on Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. MT and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m., with both match ups taking place at the NM State Equestrian Center.

Looking forward to the event-filled weekend, head coach Robin Walters said, "This weekend will be a big weekend of competition as we play two schools in two days.  The team is prepared.  Our plan is to focus on staying in the moment for each ride with the intent of laying down solid performances."

Day One
Friday's competition will begin promptly at 10 a.m. The first event of the day will be equitation over fences as Madison Brayman, Karianna Knezevich, Samantha Perlman and Erica Rosinski will get things started for the Aggies. Up next will be equitation on the flat as Brayman, Knezevich, Grace McMurry and Remington Wilkie will compete for NM State.

After equitation on the flat, the team will take part in horsemanship as Katlynn Crine, Alyssa Luckhardt, Hallie Padilla and Haylee Schoonover will represent the Aggies. The day will be concluded with reining as Katherine Arnold, Kimberly Ferrante, Allison Nordvall and Hallie Padilla will close out the day for the team.

Day Two
The events on Saturday will begin at the completion of TCU vs. SDSU. Events on Saturday will follow the same format as day one beginning with equitation over fences, followed by equitation on the flat and finising off with horsemanship and reining.

NM State will send out Madison Brayman, Karianna Knezevich, Erica Rosinksi and Remington Wilkie at the start of the competition in equitation over fences. Brayman, Knezevich, McMurry and Wilkie will then battle the Jackrabbits on the flat.

Closing out the day, Quinn Brandt, Katlynn Crine, Hallie Padilla and Haylee Schoonover will participate in horsemanship. Katherine Arnold, Kimberly Ferrante, Kiley Newkirk and Allison Nordvall will then close out the two-day weekend in reining.

NM State comes in to Saturday's events sitting at 4-5 on the season. The team's most recent meet saw them fall to SMU, 14-6, on the road in Dallas, Texas.

After the contest with SDSU, the team remains at home to square off with Oklahoma State on March 4 at 10 a.m. MT.
