LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team takes flight to Kansas City this weekend to take on Grand Canyon and Chicago State. The two matches will have seeding implications for the Western Athletic Conference Championship, which will be head at the NM State Tennis Center, April 28-30.

Sitting at 2-1, the Aggies (6-10, 2-1 WAC) will have a chance to hand GCU (8-5, 2-0 WAC) its first loss of conference play on Friday, March 31, when the two teams square off at 11 a.m. (MT). The Lopes are currently tied for the lead in the WAC standings with UMKC (7-7, 2-0 WAC).

New Mexico Still will need some help from the rest of the league and hope UT Rio Grande Valley (3-12, 2-1 WAC), Seattle U (8-11, 0-3 WAC) or GCU will hand the 'Roos their first loss of WAC play.

The Aggies will wrap up conference play on Saturday, April 1, when they square off against Chicago State (4-14, 0-3 WAC) at 11 a.m. (MT).

After finishing up WAC play, NM State will return home for a three-match homestand beginning on Wednesday, April 5.
