Friday's contest will be the third time the Aggies have faced the Roos this season, after the Aggies swept the regular season series with 78-72 and 60-43 victories during conference play. This will be the first WAC tournament meeting between the two squads.

ALL-WAC HONORS
The Western Athletic Conference announced the All-WAC honors on Monday, March, 6. Head coach Mark Trakh and the Aggies earned seven individual accolades, more than any other WAC opponent, including Trakh for Coach of the Year and Moriah Mack for Player of the Year.

This was the third consecutive season Mark Trakh has been named the WAC Coach of the Year, after three-straight conference regular season titles. An undefeated (14-0) record in WAC play this year was a first in NM State program history, to go along with a 22-6 overall record. Trakh and the Aggies finished the season on a 15-game winning streak, for the second straight year, which ties the program record set by Joe McKeown in 1987-88.

Moriah Mack headlined the awards for players, earning WAC Player of the Year for the first time in her career. At season's end, the senior was in the top-10 in nine different statistical categories in conference play. Mack averaged 15.1 points per game on .500 shooting from the field, to go along with 3.1 assists and a WAC-leading 2.2 steals.

With the Player of the Year honor, Mack also added First Team All-WAC and All-Defensive Team to her resume. This was the second straight season Mack has been named First Team and All-Defensive.

Joining the San Antonio, Texas native on the First Team is sophomore guard Brooke Salas who averaged 14.4 points and a team-leading 7.3 rebounds.  Salas' .906 free throw percentage was good for first in the WAC.

Tamera William also earned an All-Defensive team nod with Mack after grabbing 56 steals, which was third in the WAC, to go along with 17 blocked shots and 112 defensive rebounds. Along with the honor, William also earned a Second Team All-WAC nod after averaging 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists across conference play.

AGGIES TOURNAMENT TRAKH RECORD
Head coach Mark Trakh is 24-16 all-time in conference tournaments during his career and 6-3 during his time at NM State. The Aggies went 2-0  in each of the last two seasons, taking home the WAC Tournament Championship.

THE LEADER OF THE WAC
NM State has dominated in Western Athletic Conference competition as the team is 44-2 in their last 46 conference meetings, including tournament play, with a perfect 14-0 in WAC play this season. New Mexico State women's basketball also proves to be ahead of the WAC competition as they rank in the top-three in 20 of the 21 recorded team statistical categories.

The team's play is featured by leading the conference in eight fields over 27 games, including scoring offense (69.8 PPG), scoring defense (58.6 PPG), scoring margin (+11.2), field goal percentage (.424 FG pct.), three-point field goal percentage (.356 3FG pct.), three-point field goal defense (.277 3FG pct.), rebounding margin (+3.2), and turnover margin (+2.9).

STREAKING
After the team's regular season finale, NM State tied the program record for wins in a row (15), for the second straight season. The 15-consecutive mark was originally set by the Aggies back in 1987-88 coached by Joe McKeown. That streak was snapped in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 19, 1988, in an 85-74 loss to Washington.

ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS
The Aggies contest on Thursday, February 23 saw the team handily defeat WAC foe Utah Valley, 66-53. The win was the 13th straight for the team, but had larger importance at night's end.

The victory for the team was the 100th career win for head coach Mark Trakh during his time here at NM State. Trakh reached this mark over a six-year period which saw the coach turn the program around from winning six games in his first season (2011-12), to a team that has now won 20+ games in each of the last three years.

With the turnaround coach Trakh brought to the program, another milestone was also reached Thursday night after a loss by Seattle U. With the Redhawks loss and the win by the Aggies earlier in the night, NM State had secured their third-straight WAC regular-season title. The three-peat had never been accomplished in the history of the program.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE AGGIES
NM State closed out their regular season in Edinburg, Texas on March 4 against the UTRGV Vaqueros. The game featured senior night for the opponent as the Aggies swept the season series with a 64-46 victory.

The win saw three Aggies score in double digits, led by Moriah Mack with 14 points, followed by Brooke Salas and Gia Pack with 12 apiece.
