LAS CRUCES, N.M. – It will be another intense week for the New Mexico State women's soccer team as they prepare to host in-state rival, New Mexico, in the Battle of I-25 at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Soccer Athletic Complex. The Aggies then hit the road once again for back-to-back matches against Grambling State on Aug. 26 at 4 p.m., followed by Alcorn State at noon on Aug. 28.

Aggies Off to Best Start Since 2010
- NM State is off to its best start to a season, with a 1-0-1 record, since 2010 (2-0-1).

Sweet, Sweet Victory!
- For the first time in school history, the Aggies took home the win against Battle of I-10 rival UTEP in an intense double-overtime win, 2-1.

Making Their College Debut!
- Five freshman made their collegiate debut in the first two matches of the 2017 season. (

- Hernandez had three shots against UTEP and one against Northern Illinois with a sum of 164 minutes of field time.

- Wolter played 60 minutes in the home opener against UTEP and a total of 56 minutes with one shot attempt against Northern Illinois.

- Fong faced a total of 36 shots in the first two games of the season (12 vs. UTEP and 19 at Northern Illinois), earning a goals against average of 0.42.

- Between her first two matches, Martinez racked up 64 minutes of playing time and had one shot in each game.

- In her freshman debut against Northern Illinois, Greenblatt accumulated 14 minutes of field time, assisting her team to a 0-0 double-overtime draw.

Fong named WAC Defensive Player of the Week
- Redshirt freshman
Dmitri Fong earned her first career Player of the Week award after accumulating seven saves and allowed only one goal to UTEP in the Battle of I-10. Fong then had eight saves the following match against Northern Illinois in a double-overtime draw, 0-0.

NM State Rolls to the Creole State
- To start their two-game road campaign, the Aggies head to Grambling State in search of their first road win of the season.

- The Tigers are led by head coach Justin Wagar, who brings 15 years of coaching experience with an overall record of 111-84-17.
