@NMStateWTEN Opens Dual Season in Sin City

The NM State women’s tennis team is headed to Las Vegas for a pair of matches to open its dual season.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team, under the direction of first-year head coach Emily Wang, is scheduled to open its 2018 dual season this weekend in Las Vegas with a pair of matches.

First up for the Aggies will be the Rebels of UNLV as they open up the dual season at 11 a.m. (MT) on Friday, Jan. 19. NM State has lost the last two meetings against the Rebels, and haven't won in Las Vegas since its 4-3 victory on Feb. 8, 2015.

New Mexico State will then look to keep its 16-match win-streak against Weber State going when the two teams square off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The Aggies will be the first opponent of the 2018 dual season for both squads on Friday and Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Eli Arnaudova and Yadira Rubio lead the Aggies in singles play with four wins apiece. In Doubles action, the Dutch duo of Rebecca Keijzerwaard and Quinty Janssen have two wins to their name while Lindsay Harlas and Yadira Rubio have also posted two wins.
