LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State swimming and diving team takes its first road trip of the season, visiting Wyoming on Friday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. (MT) before taking on Western Athletic Conference foe Northern Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 11:30 a.m.
Â
"This weekend will be a great challenge for our team and also a fun experience to have our first road trip together," said head coach
Rick Pratt. "Traveling to Colorado always helps our team come together and it will be interesting too how we handle these two meets. Wyoming is always very good and especially at home. UNC is probably the most improved team in the WAC and has some impactful freshmen swimming very well. For us to be successful we will need to have high energy and focus."
Â
Both meets this weekend are dual meets with the Wyoming meet being a standard 16 event meet. At UNC, in addition to the standard 16 events, the Aggies will contest the 400 Medley relay, the 200 Free relay and the 400 IM instead of the usual 200 IM.
Â
Last season, NM State defeated the Bears 171-127 in Las Cruces while Wyoming was able to record a 157-139 victory over the Aggies, also in the City of Crosses.
Â
New Mexico State returns to the Swimming and Diving Complex on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11:30 a.m. (MT) to take on CSU Pueblo. Admission is free for all fans at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex.
