LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team wrapped up a strong round two of play at the NM State Aggie Invitational on Tuesday at the NMSU Golf Course. A great effort from the Aggies saw the team leapfrog three competitors on day two as the team now sits in second place out of 16 teams after firing a 297-299—596 (+20).
Dominique Galloway continues to lead the way for the squad as the junior fired an even-par, 72, on Tuesday and now sits in a tie for second with a 36-hole score of 143 (-1). Galloway currently leads the tournament field with 28 holes for par and leads the team in birdies with five.
Maria Prado moved up into a tie for 22
nd after firing a two-over, 74, to give her a total score of 150 (+6).
Kehler Koss has fired a 75-76—151 (+7) and is tied for 27
th.
Pun Chanachai follows one shot behind at 75-77—152 (+8) to tie for 35
th.
Tiegan Taylor rounds out the Aggies starting lineup at 76-80—156 (+12) and is tied for 53
rd.
Angela Xu, competing as an individual, is tied for 88
th with a two-day total of 170 (+26).
After two rounds of golf, the team leaderboard features UTEP in first place with a team score of 580 (+4), followed by NM State in second at 596 (+20) and Utah Valley completes the top-three with a 36-hole score of 597 (+21).
New Mexico State looks to close out strong with the final round of the Aggie Invitational set to tee off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Live stats for the tournament can be followed on
