SPOKANE, Wash. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team completed a tough second day of play at the Gonzaga Invitational Saturday evening inside the Stevens Center.
Â
In doubles, Gonzaga proved to be too much for the Aggies and dropped all three matches against the host Bulldogs.
Â
The day continued to be a little shaky, but
Neus Torregrosa served to be the lone shining light for NM State against Idaho and captured her second singles win of the weekend. The Mallorca, Spain, product defeated the Vandal's Maggie Chen easily 6-1, 6-2.
Harsha Challa challenged UI's Laura Spataro in the second set to force a third, but ended up falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
Â
NM State will wrap up its fall slate on Sunday when it battles Portland in singles at 10 a.m. (MT) followed by Idaho in doubles.
