LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Instead of its original April date, the New Mexico State women's tennis team will face off against UT Permian Basin this Sunday, Feb. 11, at the NM State Tennis Center. The bump in date will allow both men's and women's programs for the Falcons to travel and compete on the same date.
Â
With the bump, the men's tennis team will square off against UTPB on the front courts while the women's teams battle on the backcourts similar to the start of their season last week.
Â
The Aggies head into the match 1-3 overall, dropping its last two matches at home to NAU and Abilene Christian.
Yadira Rubio leads the team with a 6-5 mark in singles play and 2-1 record in dual action, tying her with
Lindsay Harlas through three matches in the spring.
Eli Arnaudova is second on the team with a 5-5 record while Harlas checks in with a 4-6 record.
Â
UTPB's women's team has yet to start the dual season. The Falcon's first match is scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 10, at noon against Battle of I-10 rival UTEP before heading up the road to take on the Aggies on Sunday.
